You can choose to upload your entire catalogue and then create bespoke campaigns to gain exposure or let Facebook automatically “deliver the most relevant products to people.” The latter will no doubt leverage the mountain of big data Facebook have available.

The brilliant thing about Facebook Product Ads is that they allow for a wide range of customisations to further complement your customers’ journeys.

For example, you can choose to automatically reach people who visited your website/app or target individuals based on their location, interests, gender, etc.

There’s also the ability to curate ads as you see fit to highlight particular products from your website, such as your bestsellers. These can be showcased in either single or multi-product ads.

Facebook have really thought about the customer experience when creating the new Product Ads. One example of this is the fact that specific Product Ads will be turned off if that product is out of stock (when using automatic delivery of ads).

Product ads became available last week in the API through Facebook Marketing Partners and will be rolled out in Power Editor over the coming weeks.
