You’ve published an awesome post on Facebook and it is garnering lots of attention and engagement among your FB audience. Naturally, you want to share it on your other social media networks and boost its exposure.
But how do you go about sharing a post that you’ve published on Facebook to Twitter, for example?
It might sound like a simple task, but it’s actually a little bit more difficult than many people imagine. That’s because Facebook doesn’t make it obvious how to share posts published on its platform to other networks.
That’s why we are going to tell you how to do it now.
First of all, open your business Facebook page and find the post you want to share to Twitter.
Now place your mouse pointer on the date/time the post was published and click (it will be a link):
This will take you to the individual post.
Now check its privacy settings. After all, nothing would be more frustrating for your Twitter followers than clicking on a link you’ve tweeted and finding they don’t have access. A small globe symbol next to the date/time indicates it’s a public post and that means you’re good to go!
NB – most posts on Facebook pages are public by default, but it’s still worth double-checking.
With the individual post still displayed, check the address bar at the top of your browser window. This will show the specific URL for that post and that’s all you need to share it to Twitter. Make sure the URL has a long string of numbers at the end. If it doesn’t you’re probably not on the right page yet.
Simply copy the URL and paste it into a tweet to share it with your Twitter followers. If you want to use a URL-shortening service first that’s fine, but Twitter will automatically shorten it for you anyway.
