Twitter Moments Now Available to Everyone

Have you ever used Twitter Moments? It’s a feature that was first introduced back in October 2015, but limited to just some selected partners of the social network. Then, in August 2016, Twitter made the feature available to a broader group of influencers before finally pushing it out to all users on September 28.

So what’s Twitter Moments?

It’s a feature that allows you to stitch multiple tweets together into slideshows, effectively turning them into mini-stories.

In a blog post in August, Twitter said: “By extending this creative format to more people, and eventually to everyone on Twitter, we are giving people a new and dynamic way to tell their stories.”

Some of the early adopters of Twitter Moments have also spoken about their experiences with the feature. Civil Rights Activist DeRay Mckesson said:

“Moments allows us to collect and curate Tweets to tell stories in new ways. It’s a powerful Twitter feature, continuing to help build community as we engage specific topics and events.”

Try it out for yourself now using these simple instructions:

1. Go to your Twitter profile on a desktop or laptop computer and click the ‘Moments’ tab:


N.B. Twitter Moments is still unavailable on Twitter’s mobile apps, but that is likely to change going forward.

2. Click the ‘Create new Moment’ button on the right-hand side of the page:


3. Choose a title, description and cover for your Moment.

Keep these short, yet descriptive, says Twitter.

4. Add some content and publish your Moment. 

Select content from Tweets you’ve liked; Tweets from specific accounts; Tweets from a search; and/or Tweets by their direct link.

Once you’re happy, hit publish and share your Twitter Moment with the world.
