When our Facebook business pages moved across to the new timeline there were lots of changes for us to adjust to. Some took the changes on board easily and others despised the timeline. The new look presented some challenges, most of which we have adapted to now.
There has been one thing though that has continued to annoy us and that is the inability to see “posts by others” on our timeline. That has meant that even if somebody does take the time to post a comment, review or testimonial on our page that we haven’t gained maximum exposure from it because the post appeared in this little box on the right hand side of the screen.
So, the problem was “who is ever going to see those?”, right?
Well there was a little known trick to give each post permission to appear in your timeline on your page … and I was going to tell you about that. But now there is something even better and SIMPLER that you can do to ensure you make the most of every comment, post, testimonials, piece of feedback you receive on your business page and this is all you need to do!
Go to your business page
Go to Edit Page
Click Manage Permissions (far left of screen)
Scroll down to Post Visibility and you’ll see a line that says “Default visibility of posts by other on (your business page)”. Choose “Allowed on Page”
Scroll down and click “Save Changes”
Step 6 (and this is the most important step):
GET PEOPLE TALKING!
Now every time someone posts on your page, their post will appear on your timeline just like any other post and you’ll gain maximum benefit from them.
And remember, gratitude is extremely powerful in the eyes of your clients and potential customers. So if somebody takes the time in their day to write a comment (negative or positive), then you should show the courtesy of responding. Thanking them for their time, their comment, their feedback must become part of your social media strategy, and your communications strategy.
